Present: Going to the US

After all that terrible stuff happened, I continued to stay in Romania until 1976. That’s when I moved to the United States. The US was much different than Romania. I emigrated with my family to the United States. US had different land features, customs, climate, and everything! I was amazed when I first arrived there. I am experiencing new adventures every day and it’s a lot of fun! We eat different types of food here and a few weeks ago, I had my first hot dog. It was delicious! Well, now I must go and I will update in a few weeks.

1940-1944: Not Being able to go to School

One day, I did not go to school. I wasn’t sure at first, but then I found out it was because I was Jewish. They kicked out all the Jewish people out of my school. I was confused and thought we should be able to get an education. Then again I was glad because what kid wants to go to school? Then they didn’t let any Jewish people into public hospitals. Now that’s when I got sort of mad. We needed a hospital for, you know, hurt people. So we opened up a Jewish clinic. That’s all I have to say about that.

1940′s: Hitler’s Coming

We just heard that Hitler was coming with German Nazis (whatever those are!). I overheard my father saying that they are coming here to get us. My dad doesn’t want me to know, but I had no choice but to listen to him talking about it. I’m not sure why they are coming but I knew it wasn’t good. Then my dad started freaking out at first, then he got calm and told me to pack. I wasn’t sure for how long because he just told me to pack for a long time. I don’t think he was sure either. Then we moved.

Birth to 1939:my regular school days

I’ve been going to school nearly my whole life (nothing surprising). We learn all the usual stuff; Math, Science, History, etc. Some os it’s really fun, but also boring because we actually have to work. I have good teachers that help me a lot. I would have to say, Math is my favorie subject. Except for when we have to take notes. That’s no fun. Well, those are my usual school days.

My house caught on fire

September 23, 1932

One day my house caught on fire and no one knows how it started. It might have been when my mom was cooking on the stove. I’m not really sure. Anyways, I suddenly smelt smoke and started freaking out. I had time for only one thing to grab. I atomatically picked my teddy bear. My father gave it to me when I was little. It is the most important thing I have ever gotten. It means so much to me and I would never give it up or leave it anywhere! I love that old teddy bear to death!
